Biden State of the Union

President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday touched on a long list of varying topics, ranging from increased economic growth and infrastructure to continued welfare programs. While a handful of topics netted bipartisan applause, including police reform and cooperative legislation, notable points of contention also sprung up most notably when Biden brought up social security and medicare, and most contentiously, Senator Rick Scott’s sunset program.

 

Humanitarian Crisis in Turkey and Syria

After the devastating earthquake, based in the Turkish town of Gaziantep, and the aftershocks and damage that followed, continued humanitarian aid has flowed into the affected areas. Numerous revelations and issues have arisen, most prominently, Russian hacking of humanitarian systems, and accusations that Turkish President Recep Erdoğan cut corners in construction processes, exasperating the damage.

 

Four Recent Unexplained Aerial Objects Shot Down

In the past week following the shooting down of a P.R.C. Surveillance balloon that drifted over the U.S. for several days, three more unidentified objects were downed by U.S. military forces, in both American airspace and Canadian airspace, at the request of the Canadian government.

 

Nikki Haley announces 2024 presidential campaign

Former U.N. Ambassador and Republican governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley formally announced her 2024 candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination, becoming the first challenger to former president Donald Trump in the Republican party.
