Update on The Daily Show

Last December, Trevor Noah stepped down as the host of The Daily Show. Ever since there has been a new guest host each week. For the week of March 13, that is actor Kal Penn, who served in the Obama administration and was on the show, Designated Survivor. Penn, to start off the week, interviewed President Joe Biden. They talked about marriage equality and how to protect LGBTQ Americans, especially trans youth.

Next week, former SNL cast member Al Franken, who served as the U.S. Senator from Minnesota, will host The Daily Show. 

 

Famous actor announces run for U.S. Congress

“Boy Meets World” actor Ben Savage, 42, is running for the U.S. House as a Democrat. He wishes to replace Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, who is running for the U.S. Senate. In 2022, he ran for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council and lost.

Some of the other candidates for the seat are former City Attorney of Los Angelos Mike Feuer, state Rep. Laura Friedman, and state Sen. Anthony Portantino.

 

New Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Chief 

In a 54-42 vote, the U.S. Senate confirmed Danny Werfel to be commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service.
